A therapeutic and healing hypnosis massage is a unique combination of massage therapy and hypnosis techniques aimed at providing physical relaxation, mental calmness, and emotional well-being.

Let your therapist relax and still your body first. The mind will naturally follow and be in a receptive trance-like meditative state. Using guided imagery within your massage treatment, Angela will guide you into hypnosis so that information in the subconscious can be accessed.

Hypnosis is a trance-like state of focused attention, deep relaxation, and heightened suggestibility. It is a deep meditative state with a purpose. During hypnosis, a person's brainwaves slow down, attention is intensely focused on a specific idea, memory, or sensation while distractions are blocked out. This altered state of consciousness allows individuals to access the subconscious and the information stored within it. In a hypnotic state, the mind becomes open to suggestions and can be guided into deep self exploration.

In a therapeutic context, hypnosis has traditionally been used to help people manage pain, reduce stress and anxiety, overcome phobias, improve sleep, and address various behavioral issues such as smoking cessation and weight loss. In reality, the information provided by the subconscious can potentially help any condition one is dealing with. While it is not a magic bullet or pill, it allows one to explore their own unconscious so as to examine and better understand the root of the cause. Becoming conscious of limiting beliefs and automatic subconscious programs is often the first step in changing unwanted or self-sabotaging behavior.

Many patients find it extremely helpful to access repressed memories and unprocessed emotions as they explore the root(s) of their issues. This allows processing, release and reframing of limiting/old beliefs and unconscious patterns of behavior that no longer serve us. You have to REVEAL IT to HEAL IT!

This holistic approach integrates the benefits of therapeutic massage with the power of guided imagery and hypnosis, creating a deeply immersive and transformative experience for the patient.

“Earning my Honours BA at the University of Toronto gave me the knowledge and interest in the mind-body connection and its role in health and healing that led me to pursue a career in therapeutic touch and massage therapy.

After becoming licensed as a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario I went on to practice and gain experience in a variety of settings and with a wide variety of bodies. After 10 years of studying and working with the body it was time to dive into the spirit and the mind-body connection so I returned to the University of Toronto and completed my diploma in Clinical Hypnosis at the Centre for Continuing Studies. This gave me a deeper understanding of the subconscious mind and its role in our general health and its ability to mobilize or impede the inner resources necessary for self healing.

My experience as a manual therapist has ranged from clinical massage with a focus on neuromuscular rehabilitation, therapeutic and deep tissue treatments to deeply relaxing treatments as featured in meditation spas. I’ve been a Teacher at the Royal Canadian College for Massage Therapy and I have actively practiced in a wide variety of onsite settings. Now my practice has evolved to include guided meditation, muscle testing and hypnosis to further enhance our access to the subconscious and the mind-body biofeedback that plays such a vital role in our health and healing.

It is my goal to offer a safe space where humans of all ages, complexions, shapes, and sizes may find peace, quietude and a place that encourages inner healing and where mind and body can reconnect.

Currently, I run a full time practice where I strive to help people harness their innate healing capabilities using the mind-body connection and its brilliant (yet misunderstood) biofeedback mechanisms. I incorporate registered massage therapy with guided meditations, muscle testing, hypnosis and neuroscience (ask about our Muse for real time EEG measurement during meditations and hypnosis) in my treatments. I also run and oversee A Vital Touch Massage Therapy which is a collective of independant RMT’s and massage practitioners along with my partner Marlon.

I am proud to say that I am passionate about what I do and feel honoured every time I am given the opportunity to contribute to the healing journey of another. I recognize that all true healing is indeed self healing, but I hope to aid and help speed things along the way!”

Hi, I’m Stephanie and I practice registered massage therapy. I am passionate about what I do because I see, first hand, how massage helps us to powerfully reconnect mind, heart and body. I love massage therapy’s versatility — it offers pain relief and healing for both acute and chronic injures but it also induces deep states of relaxation that activate the body’s innate healing systems. Massage can help us move through our day-to-day lives in a more fully present, embodied way and that is such a transformative tool.

I studied in Toronto at Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy where I learned Swedish massage and a variety of techniques to treat joints and fascia. Post graduation I’ve deepened my knowledge by studying craniosacral techniques at Toronto’s Cranial Therapy Centre and osteopathic techniques at the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy. In addition to expanding my clinical knowledge, these courses have helped my hands to ‘listen’ more deeply to what your body might be trying to say. My ongoing yoga and meditation practices bring home for me the importance of mindful breathing and I will often incorporate breathwork and guided visualizations into my treatments to help you manage pain or find deeper, more lasting releases.

I strive to create a safe and inclusive space and welcome all ages, body types and orientations.

Cheers, Steph
